Mel Gibson's Max returns, wandering about the Australian desert after nuclear war has devastated the landscape. Fuel has become a priceless commodity, and in exchange for some gas, Max agrees to help a refining community defend their resources from the attacks of a sadistic biker gang. This version of the film is the original R18 Australian version, with some additional footage and without the dubbed voices which are apparent on the US version of the film. Extra footage includes a longer shot of Wez pulling the arrow from his arm, more footage of the rape and murder of the female driver, extra dialogue in Papagalo's speech to his people. The differences are minor, but completists will no doubt need to see this hard to find version. |

This television series, inspired by the film Cruel Intentions, was shelved before it aired due to its controversial subject matter. Three epsiodes were produced, and are included on this tape: Pilot Episode, "Pretty in Plaid", and "Dysfunction Junction". Also included on the tape is a 4 minute spot from the Entertainment Tonight Cover Story special about the protests of those opposed to the airing of this program. The quality of this tape is a B during most of the video, however the picture flips out occasionally in a few spots - the audio during these flip-outs is not affected. Michael Landon, who starred in wholesome family dramas throughout his five-decade television career before his death in 1991, didn't always find that warmth in his own home, as illustrated in this made-for-TV biopic. John Schneider does a solid job of capturing Landon's life as an actor, father and often-confused husband, but it's director Michael Landon Jr.'s memories of a loving but then suddenly distanced parent that make for a touching story.
