Directed By: John Woo |

Starring: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lance Henrikson, Yancy Butler, Arnold Vosloo, Wilford Brimley |
Van Damme continues his action-hero ways as Chance Boudreaux, a Cajun merchant seaman, who comes to the rescue of Natasha, albeit with lots of violence. Wilford Brimley provides the humor as Chance's bayou uncle. This film marks the American directorial debut of over-the-top Hong King action director John Woo, who had to tone down his stylish effects and cut some of the more violent scenes to earn an "R" rating for the theatrical release of the film. This version of the film is a workprint, preceded by scrolling text explaining that the film is incomplete, and asking the viewer to provide comments on the film after viewing. There are two running timers on the picture, and there are no credits. This print resembles the director's cut of the film, including over 20 minutes of footage edited from the theatrical release. |

The Hell Roller is a bitter, handicapped, son-of-a-crack-whore dude who is mad at the world, and has a doctor prepare a potion for him to give to his victims. This mysterious potion turns beautiful people into bums - bums which Hell Roller viciously kills. Kind of a weird story, terrible acting, halfway decent gore, and some nudity scenes which fail to advance the plot in anyway, including an appearance by porn-star Hyapatia Lee.
