Epic fantasy masterpiece with some amazing use of puppetry by legends of the trade Jim Henson and Frank Oz. Following Sam Raimi's Darkman storyline, this TV pilot shows a lot of potential, but unfortunately was never given a chance as it was unaired. This episode pretty much summarizes the film, covers the basics, and lays the groundwork for what could have been some decent TV.

Tom Tryon's bewitching story about a family who leaves big-city life for a home in a quiet New England town inhabited by creepy pagan folk originally aired on television as a 5 hour mini-series. This version of the film is an edited down commercial release - not quite as effective as the long version but still pretty good. Cast includes the legendary Bette Davis, Rosanna Arquette in one of her first roles and a 10 year old Tracey Gold (Growing Pains). This extended version of the film runs about an hour longer than the version released on VHS. For an even longer version of the film, see below! |

The dead are walking the Earth, and a small group of people are trying to find safehaven in a shopping mall. Loads of gore and bloodshed in this film, which has to be the ultimate zombie flick. This version of the film is the longest known version, containing all known scenes from both the Romero and Argento cuts. The downside, however, is that it's only available in German language. |

As he ruminates on his place in the world and loses his grip, he also loses his wife and his children's respect, and critics tear him apart. A fascinating, hour-long interview with director David Lynch as he relaxes at home and in a diner. Don't expect to hear Lynch give any definitive answers about what his films are about, but do expect to be entertained for the duration by his dry wit and subtle humor.

Anna Henkel who tragically died of cancer at a young age is brilliant as the protagonist on her journey through darkness, weirdness, obscurity and obscenity.

The film Dune, based on Frank Herbert's novel, tells of an interplanetary struggle for control of the magical spice Melange, and of a man who rises as a messiah to save his people. This version of the film is known as the Japanese extended version, and is 52 minutes longer than the US theatrical and video releases. The 52 minutes of footage consists of a new prologue, previously unseen footage, and repeated credits (since it was released in two parts). The changes to the film were made to make the movie more understandable and enjoyable to the average television viewer, but director David Lynch did not approve of the changes and therefore demanded that his name not be associated with this release. This version is more complete than the 2-disc special edition released on DVD in 2006. |
