Peter Greenaway's most controversial film is a story of the exploitation of innocence. The film is set in the 17th century, with visually rich scenery and costumes, and powerful characters. A baby is born unto a virgin mother (Julia Ormond), and the poor townsfolk are in awe of the miracle son. They seek the blessing of the son and mother, for which they pay dearly. Ralph Fiennes attempts to expose the fraud, and ends up being killed by the son. The boy is ultimately taken by the church, who takes the exploitation of the boy to new levels until the mother kills the boy. For this deed, her punishment is a very disturbing gang rape. This version of the film is the original uncut and uncensored 122 minute version, including full frontal nudity of both Ralph Fiennes and Julia Ormond. Click here for some SCREENCAPS. |

Quality of this material is very rough, but it is watchable and audible. Also included with this tape/disc is Crispin Glover's appearance on David Letterman's show. |

In one of his livelier roles, Stuart Whitman plays an enraged detective who goes to Montreal to track down his sister's killer. He tears apart half the city but nobody seems to care. John Saxon, Martin Landau, Tisa Farrow and Gayle Hunnicutt co-star. There are also several chase scenes, a nude scene, many creepy characters including a dwarf gangster, a few gory murders and a ground-up corpse in a rock crusher. In the film's arguable highlight, Whitman gets into hand-to-hand combat with a gang of drag queens. The harrowing finale takes place in a hospital. With all this, there's still time for a convoluted if not too plausible plot that holds a few surprises. Retitled in different territories to rope in various fans, this AIP release hit the Albany NY drive-ins in 1978. It may not have been a real masterpiece but there were worse ways to spend a Saturday night. |

The creature's bite instantly turns a woman into a monster that ferociously kills. Her nerdy son and his girlfriend try to contain the corpses in the mother's mansion, but all of the dead become blood-thirsty zombies. Tons of blood and gore fly as the zombies are mutilated in various, creative ways to stop their onslaught. Gory, surreal and graphically perverse, this film has been compared to the early Peter Jackson film, Bad Taste. Beneath the over-the-top splatter and humor lies a story of a man who rebels against the system of putting those who are deemed useless out to pasture. Disc is loaded with extras - deleted scenes, interviews, behind the scenese footage and more.

Dr. Herbert West is back with his green serum that gives life to dead tissue. It's eight months later at Miskatonic Medical School, and Dr. West joins Dr. Cain to graft the head of Cain's dead lover onto various body parts: the feet of a ballet dancer, the legs of a prostitute, the womb of a virgin, the hand of a sculptress, another hand of a murderess, and the arms of a lawyer. Meanwhile, the head of Dr. Hill returns to life, zombie creatures break loose and a cop with a severed hand runs rampant. It is one hell of a scene when these components merge. This version of the film is a pre-edit workprint, containing some different elements than what appeared in the final release. This workprint is missing some scenes, and does not have any background soundtrack or credits. This workprint is time-coded. Click HERE for some screencaps. |
